On 23rd August, HemingwayDesign and NEW Masterplannning attended Andover’s Four Fun Fridays event. We spoke to residents and visitors of all ages about the town centre and asked what would make the town centre a better place to live, work and visit.
Here are a few of your suggestion:
‘‘Musicians allowed & encouraged to play in the high street.’’
‘‘I’d like to see an Arts/ community centre.’’
‘‘A food court would be good in the Chantry Centre.’’
‘‘More event space to help families come together.’’
‘‘More activities for children. Indoor & outdoor.’’
‘‘Need for easier access & more shops in the alleys off the high street.’’
‘‘Enhanced and improved walking and cycling routes from the rail station.’’
‘‘To be marketed as a boutique town full of independent businesses that it already has.’’
‘‘More housing above shops in the high street.’’
‘‘Better access to the river.’’
‘‘Larger space for live music or theatre to celebrate the large live music scene we already have.’’
